Venture Beyond your Meeting and Explore Sands Resorts Macao’s Charm

While you are in Macao for your next event, we recommend that you take the time to explore this city’s captivating East-meets-West heritage. Step outside the meeting room and experience Macao’s incredibly rich European and Chinese cultures. Explore the rich cultural past of Macao through the “All That’s Gold Does Glitter” exhibit on display for “Art Macao” and dine on Portuguese and Chinese cuisine. If you booked your event through the “Meetings Beyond Imagination” offer, you are entitled to an extra 30 minutes of luxurious spa time for an even more relaxing break away from it all.

Meet Macao’s Fascinating Past

Macao is home to more than 20 UNESCO world heritage sites of European and Chinese architecture that have been preserved for all to see. In just minutes, you can be in the heart of Macao to walk among some of the city’s oldest monuments. It’s the perfect way to learn more about the destination that plays host to your own event.

Between now and October, we also invite you to take a break between meetings to explore “All That’s Gold Does Glitter” – An Exhibition of Glamorous Ceramics. Sands Resorts Macao is hosting a ceramics exhibition of considerable historical significance for this year’s Art Macao. China is the birthplace of porcelain and Macao served as a bridge for trading porcelain into Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries.

A ceramics exhibition: “All That’s Gold Does Glitter” is hosted by Sands Resorts Macao from Jun 8 – Oct 9 in support of Art Macao

In an effort to share the importance of porcelain with the world today, internationally renowned ceramic artist Caroline Cheng, executive director of The Pottery Workshop, commissioned 27 fellow artists from all over the world to present their beautifully handcrafted ceramic art pieces at The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip, Sands Macao and the Macao Museum of Art.

From August 10 – 23, you are also welcome to join our ceramics art workshop at The Venetian Macao, where more than 10 ceramic artists from Macao, Hong Kong and mainland China will teach visitors about ceramics in a fun and interactive way.

For more information about the “All That’s Gold Does Glitter” exhibition and the talented artists behind the ceramics, please visit: https://en.sandsresortsmacao.com/artmacao.html

A total of 27 international world-class contemporary ceramic artists were invited to create ceramic works under the theme of All That’s Gold Does Glitter, which marks the largest and highest level ceramic art exhibition in the Greater Bay Area in 2019.

Discover Macao’s culinary artistry

Break away right here at Sands Resorts Macao, where you can dine on Portuguese and Chinese cuisine, because no Macao experience would be complete without exploring the cuisines of East and West. Few people know just how creative the culinary scene is here in Macao. For flavours of the East, we recommend La Chine, recently honoured by the Black Pearl awards with the prestigious two-diamond rating. La Chine serves French-inspired Chinese cuisine set within the iconic Eiffel Tower with spectacular views overlooking the Cotai Strip. Or, the award-winning Zi Yat Heen, recognised by both Michelin and the Black Pearl awards, is the perfect place to dine on quintessential Cantonese cuisine in Macao at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao. For flavours of the West, famed celebrity Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa has made it his mission to bring the best of Portugal to Macao, and you can dine on his cuisine at The Londoner Macao. And for dessert, David Beckham’s favourite Portuguese egg tarts are an absolute must.

Furthermore, our very own talented culinary artists – Chef Chung Kuy Fai of La Chine and Chef Justin Paul of The Golden Peacock were both recently honoured as “Ambassadors for the Promotion of Asian Gastronomic Culture” in China at the Chengdu Panda Asian Food Festival, an event designed to promote culinary cultural exchanges between Asian nations in May.

Within the integrated resort, guests can relish Asian and world cuisine at over 150 eateries. These include the Michelin-starred and Black Pearl Award winners Golden Peacock and Zi Yat Heen; Black Pearl Award winner La Chine, authentic Portuguese restaurant Chiado. Guests can also enjoy the mix of Portuguese and Chinese cuisines
