The Six Integrated Resort Operators Join Hands to Launch the “Macau Loves Locals” Campaign

Sharing the fruitful results of economic diversification with local residents

(Macao, February 23, 2016) – For the very first time, Macao’s six leading resort operators have come together to offer local residents unprecedented special offers. Covering a wide-range of non-gaming offerings, Macau Loves Locals features award-winning luxury hotel rooms, family-friendly shows and entertainment, refreshing spas, world-renowned Michelin-starred restaurants, and many other non-gaming elements. This new programme is exclusive to both permanent and non-permanent residents of Macao.

Available from February 23 to March 31, 2016, the city-wide promotion offers local residents the chance to enjoy non-gaming facilities at all hotels and resorts* operated by Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Crown Entertainment, MGM China Holdings Limited, Sands China Ltd., Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) and Wynn Macau Limited (listed in alphabetical order). The campaign is a corporate social responsibility initiative of the six operators, as a way to give back to the Macao community.

"It was an honour to be invited to the press conference for the Macau Loves Locals campaign co-organised by the six operators today," said Lionel Leong Vai Tac, Macao SAR Secretary for Economy and Finance. "I am very pleased to see the six operators supporting government directions and coming together for this first-of-its-kind campaign. This joint promotion gives Macao locals the opportunity to enjoy unprecedented special offers on a wide range of non-gaming offerings which include hotel accommodation, entertainment and dining for a limited period, rewarding them with this promotion while at the same time promoting the development of the non-gaming sector in the city."

The Macau Loves Locals campaign is an unprecedented campaign in Macao, offering limited-time special offers to residents. This campaign has also received full support from the Macao SAR Government, with the aim to showcase the charm and diversity of Macao to local residents. For example, “Galaxy Macau™,” ”Broadway Macau™” and StarWorld Hotel, owned and operated by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be having special offers at their family-friendly and non-gaming facilities including the UA Galaxy Cinemas, Foot Hub, over 60 of its award-winning food and beverage outlets, as well as at their seven world-class hotels – The Ritz-Carlton Macau, Banyan Tree Macau; JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, Galaxy Hotel™, Broadway Hotel and StarWorld Hotel, where local residents can enjoy the “star-rated” quality in hospitality and “Asian Heart” services.

In addition, there will be waves of “locals only” offers on the world-class non-gaming entertainment offerings from Melco Crown Entertainment’s resorts – The House of Dancing Water, the world’s largest water-based extravaganza, only at City of Dreams; newly opened Hollywood-themed Studio City’s Golden Reel, the world’s highest figure-8 Ferris wheel; The House of Magic, the only permanent magic theatre in Asia; Batman Dark Flight, the world’s first 4D simulation ride based on the DC superhero Batman’s storyline; Warner Bros. Fun Zone, a 40,000-square-foot family entertainment center featuring Warner Bros.’ and DC Comics’ franchise characters. Local residents can enjoy a complimentary ride on the Golden Reel for each ticket purchased for either The House of Dancing Water at City of Dreams or The House of Magic at Studio City.

MGM MACAU is a luxury integrated resort inspired by the arts with every element of the hotel infused with creativity and style. In the heart of the hotel is the Grande Praça, Macao’s only European-inspired atrium, which makes the perfect setting for families to spend quality time together. The impressive 8-metre high saltwater aquarium is a popular attraction and guests will be charmed by the twice-daily interactive fish-feeding shows hosted by an experienced marine expert. Discover a tempting array of gastronomic delights at signature restaurants including Aux Beaux Arts, Imperial Court and Rossio, and be amazed by the artistry of the chef’s team. Embark on a wellness regime with a fitness membership or enliven the senses with any of MGM MACAU’s rejuvenating spa treatments.

At Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao, locals can enjoy family-friendly entertainment attractions such as gondola rides on the Grand Canal at the world-famous The Venetian Macao, the lively and eye-popping Shrekfast themed character breakfast at Sands China’s DreamWorks Experience, Michelin-starred restaurants such as the Golden Peacock, accommodation at award-winning hotels featuring nearly 10,000 guest rooms across Sands Resorts properties, and exciting concerts at the Cotai Arena like Hins Cheung and the K-pop concert I Want Cube Pop. Participating food and beverage outlets for this campaign include Sands China’s business partners. In addition, locals will get the chance to enjoy some exciting free offers and discounts, including deals on Cotai Water Jet. As part of this five-week campaign, Sands China is giving away over 1,400 free gondola rides and more than 1,000 Shrekfast tickets, and will host a daily lucky draw which includes prizes such as free hotel stays and food and beverage gift vouchers.

As the operator rooted in Macao, SJM believes in putting every effort into upgrading the quality of life here. In this campaign, SJM offers a variety of non-gaming experiences to locals, including 10 hotels, four amenities and more than 30 food and beverage outlets. It offers an extensive range of restaurants serving the highest quality cuisine; in particular, the only restaurants in Macao to be honoured by the highest three-star rating from Michelin – the world renowned French restaurant Robuchon au Dôme and Chinese fine-dining restaurant The Eight at Hotel Grand Lisboa. In addition, Pousada de São Tiago, one of Macao’s most charming and exclusive historical landmarks, and Regency Hotel, the first resort on Taipa island, provide unique leisure experiences for Macao residents. As a family-oriented attraction, the first large-scale 3D museum in Macao located in Ponte 16 Resort affords Macao residents and their families a terrific opportunity to pose for interesting photos with various exhibits and 3D paintings.

Wynn Macau is the only resort in the world honoured with seven Forbes five-star awards, for its hotels, spas and restaurants. Visitors can experience an array of international cuisine at its Michelin-starred restaurants, including the authentic Tan cuisine at the Michelin two-star Golden Flower, the sumptuous Cantonese classics at the Michelin-starred Wing Lei and the unique Japanese culinary adventure at the Michelin-starred Mizumi. World-class entertainment is available with shows on every night at Macao’s only choreographed Performance Lake. Guests are also guaranteed to be amazed by other entertainment available including the astrologically-themed atrium featuring a Tree of Prosperity and a Dragon of Fortune.
