(Macao, April 11, 2016) — DreamWorks Theatricals, Broadway Entertainment Group FZ LLC and NETworks Presentations LLC are pleased to announce that the production of SHREK THE MUSICAL with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, is coming to  Macao for the very first time as part of its first ever international tour.  Supported by The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the English-language production will be playing at The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Macao for 21 performances only, from July 22 to Aug. 7, 2016 and follows other Broadway musicals that Sands China Ltd. has brought to Macao. Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday, April 12, 2016 and are available at all Cotai Ticketing box offices.

SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film that started it all. This live adaptation brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to the stage. In a far away kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey that does not keep quiet, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand and his name is Shrek.

“We are thrilled that SHREK THE MUSICAL will be performed in places it’s never been before and for families all over the world to experience their favorite ogre and fairy tale creatures live on stage,” said DreamWorks Theatricals.

“We are so excited to bring this musical to Macao, as part of our entertainment strategy to bring international shows to the region.  It reaffirms our commitment to offer entertainment for all ages and this show will appeal to both adults and children alike,” said Dave Horton, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Las Vegas Sands Corp. & Sands China Ltd.  “It also complements our existing long-term partnership with DreamWorks at The Londoner Macao where guests can enjoy a Shrekfast character breakfast and watch the DreamWorks characters in the All-Star parade; and now Shrek The Musical offers the complete Shrek experience.”

SHREK THE MUSICAL features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize® winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Good People), music by Olivier Award-winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline, or Change). SHREK THE MUSICAL is choreographed by Chris Bailey and directed by Stephen Sposito who served as Associate Director of the Broadway revival How To Succeed In Business starring Daniel Radcliff. Costumes are the Tony Award® winner designs by Tim Hatley (Private Lives, Spamalot).

This production of SHREK THE MUSICAL is produced by Broadway Entertainment Group FZ LLC and NETworks Presentations, LLC.

SHREK THE MUSICAL will play at The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Macao from July 22 to Aug. 7, 2016. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 12, 2016 and are available at all Cotai Ticketing box offices or
