Smashing Fun! Behind-the-Scenes Secrets Revealed During STOMP Backstage Show Tour in Macao

Still time to book tickets for the award-winning theatrical production at The Venetian Theatre

(Macao, Sep 27, 2016) – The cast and crew of the world-renowned performance show STOMP hosted an exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour for a select group of invited media tonight, offering unprecedented access to what goes into producing such an eclectic stage show. STOMP performers are legendary for incorporating unusual props into their act and guests were mesmerised to see just what sort of everyday items can be turned into instruments and performance tools to create one of the world’s most entertaining stage acts.

Audiences can expect see and hear a bizarre collection of ‘instruments’ used by the talented STOMP performers who somehow manage to smash, crash and bash them into a  percussion masterpiece. In addition to brooms and bins, everyday items such as boxes of matches, drumsticks and even black paint make an appearance during shows.

STOMP, the innovative dance, street theatre and music performance, has been touring the globe for 25 years, bringing over 20,000 performances to more than 12 million people in 53 countries across six continents. There are up to five STOMP companies performing worldwide at any time.

The revamped show, with new music, choreography and ‘instruments’, including massive recycled inner tubes which performers wear and play simultaneously, is more riveting than ever. With contagious beats, hilarious slapstick, spectacular and inventive routines and an almost telepathic understanding between the dancers, this is the ultimate urban-meets-primal dance and rhythm display.

Tickets for the remaining STOMP shows at The Venetian Theatre, which run until Oct. 9, 2016 are priced from MOP / HKD 180 to MOP / HKD 780, and can be purchased from all Cotai Ticketing box offices, online now at or by phone at +853 2882 8818 (Macao) / +852 6333 6660 (Hong Kong) / 4001 206 618 (China toll-free).
