International contemporary artist Tai Xiangzhou; Li Jiaxing, Assistant Director, Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Lok Hei, President, Macau Artist Society; Lao Fu Ip, President, Delight (Macau) Calligraphy Association; Li Hongfei, CEO, Taide Foresight Limited; Dr. Wilfred Wong, President, Sands China Ltd.; Virginia Lam, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, Sands China Ltd; Sean McCreery, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations, Sands China Ltd.; and Vikram Reddy, Regional Vice President at Four Seasons Asia Pacific and General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Macao attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the launch Dr. Wong said: "Sands China Ltd. is committed to developing non-gaming attractions in Macao for residents and visitors, and culture and the arts is a mainstay of this initiative. We are honoured to invite leading artist Tai Xiangzhou to exhibit his outstanding ink paintings. His pursuit of excellence and refinement complement The Grand Suites at Four Seasons' meticulous, low-key yet luxurious approach, which delivers guests an elegant, inspiring experience. We welcome everyone to visit this unique art exhibition."

Mr. Tai said: "This exhibition showcases over 38 of my artworks, encompassing phases and genres from landscapes of the Song dynasty to the abstract Celestial Chaos series. While they represent my creative ideas around traditional and cosmological art, I hope visitors can have their own interpretations through my ink strokes, swirling clouds and rugged rocks."

Mr. Tai studied Chinese literature and calligraphy with renowned practitioners Hu Gongshi and Wang Wenjun from a young age. His doctoral dissertation from Tsinghua University, focusing on cosmology and traditional landscape art, was critically acclaimed. He uses traditional Chinese materials – brushes, ink, paper and silk – to combine science, philosophy and art, exploring the link between the universe and spirituality to define contemporary cosmology. Focusing on Song Dynasty landscape painting and calligraphy, he is rooted in Chinese painting tradition, boldly reinterpreting the genre, meticulously capturing elements of nature including rocks, trees, clouds, mist and water.

Mr. Tai has held over 30 individual exhibitions around the world, and his art pieces have been acquired by more than 22 domestic and international museums, art galleries and academic institutions including Brooklyn Museum, Art Institute of Chicago and Yale University Art Gallery.

Grand Atelier on Level 6 of The Grand Suites at Four Seasons is a stunning space, providing an expansive 6,400 square feet dedicated to exclusive cooperation with premium global brands and leading artists, and hosting one-of-a-kind exhibitions and other exciting bespoke events.
