teamLab SuperNature Macao Wins Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Media, Visual Communications & Entertainment

'Body-immersive' interactive experience recognised by prestigious business awards programme

(Macao, May 25, 2022) – teamLab SuperNature Macao at The Venetian® Macao has won the
Gold Stevie® Award for Innovation in Media, Visual Communications & Entertainment at the ninth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. An online awards ceremony will be held on June 29, 2022.

Located at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo, teamLab SuperNature Macao is an immersive interactive experience, featuring cutting-edge art installations by art collective teamLab in a massive, three-dimensional space. The permanent exhibition spans over 5,000 square metres of labyrinthine floor space with impressive eight-metre high ceilings, creating a 'body-immersive' art space where visitors redefine their perception of the boundaries between the self and the world.

teamLab SuperNature Macao presents an avant-garde concept that transcends the boundaries between the physical body and the artworks. Visitors can change the nature of the works in real time, directly affecting artwork spaces through synergistic interaction. One of the key characteristics of this exhibition is that the artworks are not pre-recorded images but created by a computer programme that continuously renders them based on human involvement. Previous visual states can never reoccur or be replicated, making no two visits the same.

Sean McCreery, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations, Sands China Ltd., said: "teamLab SuperNature Macao represents an innovative integration of art and technology, offering visitors to The Venetian Macao a multisensory journey like no other. Enveloped in a space of light, music and colour, guests can experience the thrill of interactive art and create a world totally unique to themselves. Being recognised with a prestigious gold Stevie award is truly gratifying and encourages us to continue pushing the boundaries in entertainment and recreation with ever more creative products."

Founded in 2001, teamLab's international, interdisciplinary group of specialists includes artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, design and the natural world. teamLab exhibitions have been included in "Top 10 Art Exhibitions" from 2015 until 2018 by leading design magazine designboom, and listed in "The World's Greatest Places 2019" by Time Magazine.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is the only business awards programme to recognise workplace innovation in all 29 Asia-Pacific nations. More than 900 nominations from organisations across the region were considered in a wide range of categories. Gold, silver and bronze Stevie award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 100 executives around the world acting as judges.
