The Performing Arts
This summer, visitors can't miss two fascinating performing arts events while enjoying their vacation in Macao. Both performances are part of the Sands China Performing Arts Program, which underscores the company's aspirations to leverage its world-class venues to stage nationally and internationally acclaimed shows.

Making its Macao debut at The Venetian Theatre (July 28-30) is the culturally-rich Floral Princess 65th Anniversary Macao 2023. UNESCO recognised and one of the most famous Cantonese operas of all time, the 65th anniversary special, created by Utopia Cantonese Opera Workshop, combines the timeless nature of this noted opera with a modern approach for a remake that will appeal to opera lovers and those new to this time-honoured tradition. Fusing art and technology the opera features a grand mobile stage design, engaging projections, dramatic lighting, rearranged music and new scenes, for a magnificent contemporary experience.

The other standout musical experience is the concert by Vienna based musicians the Janoska Ensemble on August 19 at The Parisian Theatre. The best-selling, award-winning, family quartet of classical musicians combine their technical perfection with the art of improvisation for a truly unique musical sound known as the Janoska Style. For their first-time performance in Macao they will focus on music from their latest album, The Big Bs, which pays homage to famous B composers, from Bach to Beethoven. They have also created a special musical number exclusively for the Macao concert.
