The Venetian Macao Hosts the 24^th China Music Awards
with a Dazzling Lineup of Stars

Held at Cotai Arena for the ninth time the star-studded event further solidified a strong post-pandemic comeback for Macao

(Macao, Jul. 28, 2023) – The Venetian^® Macao hosted the 24^th China Music Awards and Asian Influential Power Grand Ceremony for the ninth consecutive time at Cotai Arena on July 23, 2023. The event, a celebration of musical talent, marked its spirited return for the first time since the pandemic with a star-studded lineup. It recognised outstanding performers and their works from 2020 to 2023 and signalled the start of a new era.

Some of the industry's biggest stars attended the event, including Mandopop legend Richie Jen, singer-songwriters Penny Tai and Su Yunying, Chinese rapper GAI, Korean-American pop singer and actor Lee Seung-hyun, and up-and-coming singers Liu Yu and Uno Santa.

Iconic Japanese boy band w-inds. kicked off the awards, with performances of new songs 'Beautiful Now' and 'Strip', and K-pop idol and style icon, Jessica Jung, dazzled the audience with a singing and dancing medley of 'Wonderland+FLY'. The overall highlight was a dynamic performance by K-pop superstar Rain that showcased his sophisticated vocals, catchy melodies and elaborate dance moves, and included his new hit 'Domestic' and the classic 'Gang'.

A total of over 20 awards were presented, including Most Popular Male Singer, Most Popular Female Singer, Best Stage Performer, and Asian Influential Power Most Popular International Artist.

The event was broadcast live on Star TV, Channel V and Star International, so that fans across the globe were able to tune in and enjoy an evening that was chock-full of big-name superstars.

Launched in 1994, the China Music Awards is the only Chinese music awards telecast globally. The Venetian Macao has co-organised the event with Star Group Ltd. China since 2012. This latest partnership once again put Macao in the international spotlight, which is part of Sands China's multi-tiered entertainment strategy of establishing Macao as Asia's entertainment hub by bringing in world-class entertainment, sports, art and cultural events.
