(Macao, Feb. 24, 2023) – Sands® Macao's Copa Steakhouse offers prime beef steaks and seafood and an array of roasted delicacies in an elegant ambience, enhanced with details that celebrate the American steakhouse tradition. Meat-lovers can have their cravings satisfied while appreciating the superb skills of the culinary team, led by Senior Chef Berk Barlas, through the open kitchen with an imposing open-fire oven and charcoal grill.
Indulge in the Ultimate US-style Feast
With a distinct Las Vegas theme, Copa Steakhouse is the first-ever traditional American steakhouse in Macao and one of the most popular steakhouses in town. Soft lighting from vintage chandeliers, warm tones and pleasing textural contrasts make it a welcoming place, and a secret in-wall cabinet stores an exquisite collection of knives specially made for guests. Copa Steakhouse is a winner of Hong Kong Tatler Magazine 'Best Restaurants 2020'; its wine list has been recognised by China's Wine List of the Year and Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence.
The restaurant selects the finest beef from all over the world, including tenderloin, rib eye, sirloin and bone-in steak. The remarkable Beef Wellington is one of Copa Steakhouse's signature dishes. The chef chooses a USDA Prime Angus tenderloin which is 120 days corn fed. The outer layers consist of seasonal mushroom duxelles, fresh spinach crêpe and Parma ham wrapped in a delicate puff pastry. Served with buttered mashed potatoes and mixed seasonal vegetables, this dish is ideal for sharing between two or more people.
Uniquely chosen by the chef, the USDA Prime Tomahawk steak is supplied by Brandt Beef, a family-operated ranch in Southern California, USA, which is an industry leader in providing the best quality beef while ensuring sustainable practices. Their Holstein cattle is fed a 100% vegetarian corn diet for 300 days. This 40oz bone-in steak, served with seasonal vegetables and a selection of sauces, is the perfect choice for a group of friends or families. Another specialty beef is Tajima Wagyu Cattle, grain-fed for no less than 420 days from Security Foods, Australia's leading producer of premium Wagyu. M6 Wagyu ribeye is grilled in Japanese Binchotan charcoal to perfect doneness, indulging beef lovers in a tender and juicy feast. Other signature dishes include fresh oysters from France; Copa chilled seafood extravaganza; Maine lobster avocado cocktail; French duck duo; grass-fed Australian lamb rack; and Iberico pork chop.
The beloved three to four-course Steak Set Menu is priced from MOP 638* per person, and is updated from time to time. The delectable meal starts with pan-seared foie gras or duck confit and arugula salad, then a creamy forest mushroom soup. For main course, guest can choose New Zealand black Angus prime ribeye or Australian black Angus sirloin. The feast ends on a sweet note with the classic Copa chocolate lava cake.
Up-and-coming Star Chef
Copa Steakhouse is helmed by Senior Chef Berk Barlas, a native of the Eurasian country of Turkey. With extensive culinary experience and genuine passion for food, he has worked in fine Italian restaurants in Turkey and Michelin-starred restaurants in Macao. He also worked alongside Michelin-starred Chef Raphael Francois in the USA, which adds an air of casual elegance to his fine-dining acumen.
With a career spanning three continents, Chef Berk is well versed in European gastronomies while understanding the palates of Asian and international diners. Since joining Copa in 2022, he has been curating an array of delectable dishes using sophisticated techniques in marinating, seasoning and charcoal grilling. The up-and-coming young chef draws on rich experience, both in Macao and abroad, to craft truly memorable dishes for guests.
