Artwork Concept:
The work presents a sense of virtual reality prevailing in contemporary society. Virtual elements can be found everywhere in our lives, and with real-life objects being replaced by digital data, the distinction between reality and virtuality has become increasingly blurred. Lei Ieng Wai tried to construct the rhythmic dynamics of this virtual dimension with an artificial spectrum and use repeated patterns to create a mood of monotony and meaninglessness, which reflects the current way of life.About Artist:
- Full-time artist. Graduated from the Macao Polytechnic Institute (now Macao Polytechnic University) with a Bachelor's degree in oil painting. Founder of "CHI-MOU ESTUDIO."
- Leong learned Chinese painting techniques without guidance or rules in his childhood. He later explored different art media and techniques from both the West and the East.
- Member of the Macau Artist Society and the Macau Youth Art Association.
Artwork Concept:
My works are mainly inspired by my observations of people's consumption habits. They drove me to contemplate the relationship between art, consumption and value.About Artist:
- Graduated with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in oil painting from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China. His works have been exhibited in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Portugal, the USA and Singapore. He has held over 17 solo exhibitions including: "Splashing," "Splashing Brilliance," "Eternity in an Hour," "Single Moment," "At the point of time," "As Time Goes by," "Elapse," "From Above," and "The Secret Garden."
- Member of the Chinese Artists Association; vice-chairman of the Macau Artist Society; president of the Macau Art Master Association; and director of the Macau Youth Art Association.
Artwork Concept:
Lai Sio Kit has been paying attention to the city and the small town where he grew up during his creative process. Moss is easy to grow in the humid climate and it darkens after being sun-dried, forming traces on the coast lines of the city. Time is a conceptual word without substance; in his work, he seeks to describe time in a visual way through painting. The traces of his paintings capture a state, and that state is exactly a period of time that carries a sense of place.
