Over 10,000 Sands China Team Members Have Gotten/Registered for COVID-19 Vaccine
Company once again invites Health Bureau to co-organise group vaccination sessions for team members
Working together to help Macao achieve herd immunity
(Macao, July 8, 2021)–In order to encourage team members and their families to get vaccinated against COVID-19, Sands China Ltd. once again invited the Health Bureau to co-organise group vaccination sessions for the convenience of team members and their families. With a goal of helping Macao achieve herd immunity as quickly as possible, Sands China held its second round of group vaccination sessions July 5-8 at The Venetian® Macao. To date, a total of 10,070 team members have either gotten vaccinated or have registered to get vaccinated; more than half have done so via the company sessions.
Among them is Sands China Ltd. President Dr. Wilfred Wong, who received his vaccination shot Monday, and said: "We each have a responsibility to support efforts to achieve herd immunity via community-wide vaccination, and I'm very proud that Sands China is doing its part to help make that happen. Our thanks go to the Macao SAR government for their continued leadership during the pandemic – where Macao has recorded no new local COVID-19 cases for more than 460 days – and to the Health Bureau for their collaboration again on our seminars and vaccination sessions.”
The company also invited Dr. Tai Wai Hou, clinical director of the public Conde S. Januário Hospital Centre, to return to The Venetian Macao June 30 to conduct a second seminar for team members, after a successful first seminar in May. The two seminars, titled COVID-19 Vaccine: Path to End the Pandemic, attracted more than 600 participants, who learned about vaccination safety and how to make informed decisions about the available COVID-19 vaccines. A video clip from the seminar is being shown on screens throughout properties' back-of-house team member areas, so that those who were unable to attend in person can conveniently access the information.
And as a token of gratitude, team members who get at least one vaccine dose by the end of July are eligible to enter a lucky draw for a chance to win prizes, and can also enjoy a complimentary one-night hotel stay at one of Sands China's properties this summer.
Company departments are actively encouraging team members to get vaccinated voluntarily. Besides the two seminars and the vaccination sessions, Sands China's vaccination efforts include hosting more than 50 roadshows, showing promotional clips produced by the Health Bureau and by the company, and displaying promotional posters at its properties' back-of-house team member areas. QR codes are also provided to make it easy for team members to register for vaccinations in Macao.
Sands China Ltd. continues to work proactively with the Health Bureau to encourage and facilitate its team members and their families to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to help Macao build an immune barrier, so that members of the public and people from all sectors of society can resume normal lives as soon as possible.
