Sands China Organises Team Members to Visit Exhibition
Commemorating 80th Anniversary of Victory in War of Resistance

Fostering in-depth understanding of China’s wartime history to inspire patriotism

（Macao,Aug. 25, 2025）– A delegation of 50 Sands China management team members visited the exhibition “For National Liberation and World Peace: Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Monday. Led by Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Wilfred Wong and guided by a docent, the visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the sweeping history of the war and feel the enduring spirit of patriotism.

Organised by the Macao SAR government with the support of Beijing’s Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Macao exhibition is divided into six sections. Centred around the theme of “Remembering History, Honouring Martyrs, Cherishing Peace, and Creating a Great Future,” it presents a systematic overview of the 14 years of arduous struggles endured by the Chinese people from 1931 to 1945 through a wealth of precious historical images and video materials, offering a look back at the trials and tribulations of this profound period in history.

Dr. Wong said: “This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This period of history not only wrote a heroic chapter in the struggle of the Chinese people, but also served as a profound testament to the nation’s indomitable spirit. Sands China hopes that through this exhibition, our team members will remember this history that embodies China’s patriotic spirit, thereby fostering a deeper sense of belonging to our country, while cherishing the hard-won peace – ensuring that the great significance of the war’s victory is passed down through the generations.”

Sands China has continuously worked to enhance team members’ understanding of the nation’s history and development. The company has held an array of initiatives this year to promote team members’ sense of national pride and strengthen their knowledge of the development of the country and its current status, including a sharing session on the spirit of the NPC and CPPCC by delegates and a visit to the National Security Education Exhibition.
