Sands China and FAOM Co-host Multi-faceted Roadshow

Promoting team member wellbeing and family harmony

(Macao,  Aug. 27, 2025)–
Sands China Ltd. and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) held a roadshow Tuesday at the back-of-house area of The Venetian Macao, featuring a wide range of themes including recreational and sports activities, volunteer services, community services, women’s health, vaccination consultations, vocational training, and career development. The event encouraged team members to develop diverse interests and promoted physical and mental wellbeing as well as family harmony.

“Sands China is pleased to collaborate with FAOM to offer this multi-faceted roadshow, as team member wellbeing and family harmony are foundational to our company values,” said Paulo Cheong, senior vice president of human resources for Sands China Ltd. “By promoting recreational activities and support services, we aim to foster an inclusive, safe, and healthy work environment for our team members, enabling them to achieve a healthy work-life balance while ensuring sustainable business development. We made sure to include informative career development information, such as vocational training, to help team members enhance their competence. We will continue to collaborate with FAOM and other community partners to further provide comprehensive support for our valued workforce.”

Lee Chong Cheng, president of FAOM, said: “Amid Macao’s economic transformation and market challenges, FAOM remains committed to safeguarding employee rights as its top priority. We actively maintain communication and dialogue with enterprises, continuously working to enhance employee benefits and job quality. We are very pleased to collaborate with Sands China on this event, which offers a suite of workplace and life support services to help employees pursue career growth while also balancing family and personal wellbeing.”

Sands China and FAOM have collaborated closely throughout the years by actively co-organising programmes that promote physical and mental development, foster professional literacy, and provide national education – enhancing employees’ core competencies and resilience to stress. In 2016, the company pioneered Macao’s first professional development training programme, co-organised with FAOM and the Labour Affairs Bureau. It has become a benchmark for collaborative career development programmes among local labour, business, and government. Over 8,000 team members have completed the training to date. The company also actively encourages its team members to participate in the annual Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition organised by FAOM, aiming to continuously enhance their professional skills through industry competitions.

As a responsible employer, Sands China has consistently organised activities to promote team member well-being and family harmony over the years. These have included Happy 360 Month, Sands China Amazing Summer, and Sands China Occupational Safety and Health Month, all focusing on addressing emotional needs and nurturing a more fulfilling life for its team members.
