Visitors who download the Sands Lifestyle app and register as a member will receive a special gift, and a 10 percent discount on purchases made at the booth.
Macao’s Flavour Story
Sands China’s chef collaboration event took place on March 24 at Chelsea Garden, a contemporary food hall in The Londoner® Macao. Chefs from two cities along the Maritime Silk Road, Macao and Quanzhou, came together to share and create. Jimmy Kong, Senior Chef, Chelsea Garden and Jason Cheong, Londoner Grand Banquet Kitchen Chef, prepared African chicken. This quintessential Macanese dish is a melting pot of Portuguese culinary tradition, Southeast Asian spices and African influences, a result of Portugal’s historical legacy in Macao, centuries of trade, and cross-continental exchange.
Joining them were guest chefs Hu Zeliang, Executive Chef, Quanzhou Grand Honor Hotel, and Zhang Zhiyong, Executive Chef, Fujian Lijiu Jiayan Hotel Management Co. Ltd, who presented Eastern jade dragon pearl, a traditional Fujianese dish inspired by the longan (also known as dragon’s eye) trees planted in an ancient temple in Quanzhou. The intriguing dish features Dongbi longans stuffed with prawn before being deep-fried to golden, crispy perfection. This year’s special guests were members of the Macau Association for Intellectual Development Services (MAIDS) and Sands Cares Ambassadors.
Finally, at the City of Gastronomy Showcase on March 25, Chef Kong showed festivalgoers how to make African chicken at a live cooking demonstration.
