Sands China Introduces ‘Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme’

In cooperation with Bosco Youth Service Network, ‘Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day’ helps youth with special educational needs integrate into the workplace

(Macao, April 27, 2026) - The Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme is a new community project funded by Sands China for the Bosco Youth Service Network, dedicated to providing holistic development support for local youth with special educational needs (SEN). As part of the programme, Sands China and Bosco Youth Service Network jointly hosted Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day April 21 at The Parisian® Macao. Through site visits and workshops, the event aimed to build a bridge to the workplace for SEN youth and help them improve their job-seeking skills, working together with the community to build an inclusive society.

The Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme is built on three core pillars: pre-employment training, workplace support, and sports training. Through workplace skills workshops, internships, career counselling, and regular sports training, the programme helps participants improve their workplace adaptability, further their physical and mental health and successfully integrate into society.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “As a member of the Macao community, Sands China upholds the core concept of Sands Cares and leverages our resources to assist local youth with special educational needs in their continued growth, working together to build an inclusive community. For the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme’s Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day, we welcomed some of these youth to observe our back-office areas, where they learned about the daily operations of a large integrated resort firsthand. Combined with a mock interview workshop, the experience aimed to help improve their workplace adaptability and prepare them for their future careers.”

Estevao Cheong Chi Kin, managing board director of Bosco Youth Service Network, stated: “Sands China’s collaboration with the Bosco Youth Service Network since 2018 has not only provided strong resource support but also demonstrated sincere care for the welfare of young people with special educational needs through concrete, comprehensive actions. From Tutorial Group Services and the Bosco Green Store Internship Program to the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme, Sands China has built a comprehensive growth support system for young people with special educational needs. To date, it has helped 18 SEN participants successfully enter the workforce, with six of them currently working at Sands China, showing how the programme genuinely enhances workplace adaptability and mental and physical well-being. We firmly believe that Sands China’s continuous support over the years has helped SEN youth integrate into society and become self-reliant; what’s more, this gradually extends to creating a positive effect on their families and friends, providing them with support while promoting society’s understanding of diverse abilities.”

Participants visited the team member areas of The Parisian Macao, including the wardrobe operation, team member restaurant, and floral room, giving them an understanding of the integrated resort’s operations. Current employees with special educational needs were invited to share their work experience and stories, conveying a corporate culture at Sands China that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

During the event’s mock interview workshop, a professional instructor taught interview etiquette and response techniques to help participants increase their workplace competitiveness. All the participants then finally ascended The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower to enjoy the spectacular view of the Cotai Strip, bringing the event to a satisfying close.

One of the core elements of the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme is its running club. Prior to Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day, Sands China had organised a group of young people from the club to participate in the Joyful Run with Sands Cares event in March, helping them prepare for the 2026 Sands China Macao International 10K held later that month. Besides supporting the physical development of SEN youth, the activity also aimed to contribute to improving their workplace skills, taking advantage of the positive effects of exercise on mental development.

Sands China’s community service work with the Bosco Youth Service Network includes continuous support of Tutorial Group Services and the Bosco Green Store Internship Program since 2018. The former offers tutoring for primary and secondary school students with SEN, while the latter provides workplace training, career planning support, and workplace internship experiences for SEN youth, promoting their active integration into society.

Sands China is committed to promoting inclusive employment by creating job positions and providing professional training and flexible support, offering the most job categories in Macao for employees with disabilities. The company has been working closely with the Labour Affairs Bureau and social service associations for many years, assisting with the employment of people with disabilities through accommodative work options and inclusive onboarding procedures. These outstanding measures were highly praised as a best practice example by the Top Employer Institute, a global authority on human resource strategy certification, in its 2025 white paper.
