Sands China Hosts Inaugural
China Association of Travel Services MICE Committee Gathering
(Macao, June 2, 2026) - Sands China Ltd. was honoured to host the inaugural gathering of the MICE Committee of the China Association of Travel Services (CATS) on May 27, 2026, welcoming over 40 distinguished industry leaders and partners from across China, alongside representatives from the Commerce & Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
CATS is one of China’s leading tourism industry associations, playing a significant role in the development of China’s travel and MICE sectors through industry collaboration, policy advocacy, professional exchange, and the promotion of high-quality MICE standards. The committee that was established in 2011 includes some of the country’s most influential agencies, event organisers and industry stakeholders driving large-scale business events and corporate travel across China and internationally.
The event brought together many of Sands China’s longstanding China MICE partners, that have collectively partnered with the leading integrated resort operator to deliver more than 300 large-scale MICE programmes ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 attendees, in the past ten years.
Stephanie Tanpure, Vice President of Sales, Sands China Ltd., expressed appreciation to the committee members and partners during her welcoming remarks. “We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our China MICE partners and the important role they have played in the growth of Macao as a world-class destination for meetings, incentives and conventions. Together, we have created extraordinary programmes at scale, and we remain fully committed to continually evolving our hospitality and MICE offerings to support the future growth of the industry.”
Tanpure also highlighted several recent enhancements undertaken by Sands China, including the opening of Londoner Grand®, providing a new option for MICE groups, and substantial upgrades to The Venetian Arena, which is now a best-in-class, muti-purpose venue able to accommodate large-scale events. The venue will host the NBA China Games 2026 in October, a prime example of the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering world-class experiences for its guests.
The gathering further reinforced Sands China’s position as one of Asia’s leading integrated resort operators with award-winning resorts that are preferred destinations for large-scale MICE events, while demonstrating its continued investment in supporting the long-term growth and success of the China meetings and incentive travel industry.
