IBF World Championship to Hit the Ring at The Venetian Macao

(MACAO – Jan. 24, 2017) –The 2017 5th CCTV Chinese Lunar New Year Cup IBF World Championship jointly organised by CCTV-5 and IBF China, will be held at The Venetian® Macao’s Cotai Arena Jan. 29 and 30, 2017. This latest boxing extravaganza features local favourite “The Macao Kid” Ng Kuok Kun, as well as other world’s elite male and female fighters including Cai Zongju, Etsuko Tada, Jose A Rodriguez, Jerwin Ancajas, Marcin Rekowski and Carlos Takam, which will see fighters battling against each other for an honourable IBF title. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 24 at all Cotai Ticketing box offices.
Supported by Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. and Macao S.A.R. Government, the 2017 5th CCTV Chinese Lunar New Year Cup IBF World Championship will showcase a world-class sporting event that represents the highest level of China’s professional boxing athletes. Boxing enthusiasts will be offered some fist-to-fist excitement across two nights during the Chinese New Year long weekend.
The lineup will comprise over 24 professional boxers from China, France, Japan, Mexico, Romania, the Philippines and Thailand, where they will fight head to head to win the titles of ‘IBF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion’, ‘IBF World Junior Bantamweight Champion’, ‘IBF World Female Mini Flyweight Champion’, ‘IBF China Lightweight Champion’, ‘IBF Asia Youth Middleweight Champion’ and ‘IBF Asia Bantamweight Champion’.
