Part of company's ongoing professionalism education efforts
(Macao, Aug. 10, 2021) – Sands China Ltd. recently hosted a seminar for team members and local youth at The Parisian® Macao about an inspirational success story of a local brand, as part of the company's ongoing professionalism education efforts.
Entitled Professionalism Education for Team Members: Macau Beer Macau Brand – Macau Story, the July 30 seminar aimed to encourage young people to approach challenges and opportunities with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. Charles M. Choy, co-chairman of Macau Beer Company Limited, was invited as a guest speaker to share his views on how local brands can enter the market in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and thrive under the Macao SAR government's tourism+ initiative. Citing the continued growth of Macau Beer in the GBA, Choy encouraged the younger generation to seize the opportunities brought about by the development of the area and the nation, and to better equip themselves for their future careers by facing potential employment and business challenges head-on.
Moderated by Sam Chongnin, Sands China's vice president of corporate communications and community affairs, the event attracted around 210 participants, including Sands China's management team members, interns and students who have participated in the company's DSAL Internship Programme – Level Up Training and Career Experience Opportunities Programme.
"Mr. Choy is a charismatic and visionary local entrepreneur,&" said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. "We hope that through his sharing of this inspiring success story of a local brand, the younger generation can gain a big-picture perspective of the world, which helps lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of Macao's tourism and leisure industry. This seminar also allowed team members to gain valuable insight into the concept of 'tourism+' through real-world examples, thus promoting the further development of Macao's integrated resort industry.&"
Macau Beer was founded in Macao 25 years ago and has a brewing factory in the Zhuhai High Tech Zone. Through utilising the advantages of the two Greater Bay Area cities of Macao and Zhuhai, the company has become one that continues to contribute to Macao's diversification.
