MACAO – 04 November 2019 – Conrad® Macao Cotai Strip has raised over MOP 165,000 as part of the hotel’s Pink Inspired campaign in support of Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s (HKCF) breast cancer awareness campaign and local Macao charity Associação de Feliz Paraíso. As a diamond sponsor of HKCF’s annual campaign, which increases awareness and funding for HKCF’s breast cancer care services, the hotel offered guests a series of unique pink experiences throughout October including themed menus, spa treatments, a charity lunch, games and much more.

Conrad Macao guests could also participate by making an optional MOP 10 donation to HKCF to receive a pink ribbon to add to the hotel’s topiary tree, or purchase the hotel’s iconic bear or rubber duck in limited edition pink. The hotel’s award-winning signature restaurant Dynasty 8 also offering a special pink menu.

As an extension of the Pink Inspired charity lunch, Sands Resorts Macao also staged a Pink Eiffel Tower run up The Parisian Macao’s iconic half-scale Eiffel Tower in partnership with Trends Health Magazine from Beijing.

2019 marked the eighth consecutive year that Conrad Macao donated a portion of its Pink Inspired proceeds to benefit HKCF’s various breast cancer awareness initiatives. As part of the month-long event the hotel transformed itself into a pink palace inside and out. A highlight of this year’s campaign was again the Pink charity lunch, held on Oct. 10 at Conrad Macao. All 330 guests, all dressed in various shades of pink, dined on a special pink themed, three-course lunch menu created by creative Conrad Macao chefs, which included a glass of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Rosé Champagne and gift bag.

Special guests included popular Hong Kong actor and doctor Marcus Kwok as emcee, and award-winning international media personality CNN International’s Anna Coren as guest speaker. Also speaking at the lunch was Sally Lo from the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, who emphasized how early detection of breast cancer makes a significant difference in terms of life expectancy.

Guests at the event were able to purchase lucky draw tickets to win a wide array of prizes valued at more than MOP 190,000 thanks to the support of many retail partners at Sands Shoppes Macao and others, and also included luxury hotel getaways at Conrad hotels around the world. Every guest also received a gift bag including special vouchers from luxury retailers at Sands Shoppes as well as spa and dining vouchers for The St. Regis, Cotai Strip and Sheraton Grand Macao, all part of Sands Resorts Macao.

“The first important step in battling breast cancer is raising awareness for early detection and forming a strong support community, and we are very grateful to have played a part in this through the Pink Inspired campaign,” said Mao Miyazawa, General Manager, Conrad Macao.

“While advances in medical science mean we are getting ever closer to finding a cure for this disease, there is still a huge need for inspiring campaigns such as these, and Conrad Macao has been honoured to make a contribution as a Diamond Sponsor. However it would not have been possible without the generosity of our guests and customers, the many retailers at Sands Shoppes and our sister hotels around the world, and our team members.”

The Pink Inspired campaign was also a success on social media, reaching around 90,366 Facebook fans through Conrad Macao’s Facebook page.
