Sands Resorts Macao Recognised at 2019 International Business Awards

Leading integrated resorts win two gold and a bronze Stevie awards in prestigious competition

(Macao, August 28, 2019) – Sands Resorts Macao has received two Gold Stevie® Awards and a Bronze Stevie in the Art, Entertainment and Public category at The 16th Annual International Business Awards® (IBAs) for its outstanding events. The awards are designed to reward and recognise the accomplishments and contributions of companies and business people worldwide, with this year’s winners to be officially announced at a gala event in Vienna, Austria on Oct. 19.

The leading integrated resorts picked up a Gold Stevie Award in the Sporting Event section for Light The Night Run 2018, during which more than 530 professional athletes and amateur sports fans raced up The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower, climbing 750 stairs in support of local charities and to encourage fitness, sport, wellness and health education.

Its second gold, in the Public Event section, recognised the Winter Extravaganza 2018, a large-scale event that kicked off the festive season at Sands Resorts Macao by transforming The Venetian® Macao and The Parisian Macao into winter wonderlands, complete with stunning inverted Christmas tree, an ice skating rink, Christmas fair, entertainment and food and drink.

Meanwhile, Sands Resorts Macao was honoured with the Bronze Stevie Award in the Celebration Event section for the New Year’s Eve Countdown to 2019, which included massive New Year’s Eve parties, countdown celebrations, live music and dance performances, huge firework displays and a star-studded concert in the Cotai Arena.

Brett Ingram, Assistant Vice President, Event Development and Management said: “We are delighted to have won these prestigious international awards which recognise Sands Resorts Macao as one of the leaders in organising and hosting global events. Events of this calibre require not only vision and ambition, but also total commitment and many hours of hard work to bring to fruition.”

In addition to the IBAs, the world's only international, all-encompassing business awards programme, Stevie Awards are conferred across seven other business programmes. Nicknamed for the Greek word for “crowned”, they were created in 2002 to honour and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organisations and working professionals worldwide.

The 2019 IBAs received entries from organisations in 74 nations with more than 4,000 nominations. All organisations are eligible to submit nominations to the IBAs, one of the world’s premier business awards programmes. More than 250 executives worldwide participated on 12 juries this year to determine the winners.
