Sands China Hosting Series of Back-of-House Roadshows for Local SME Suppliers
Part of company’s ongoing support to local SMEs during pandemic
(Macao, May. 13, 2020) – Sands China is featuring several local SMEs at back-of-house roadshows for its team members, as part of the company’s ongoing support to local SMEs, especially during this difficult time of the pandemic.
At various times between May 11 and May 29, Sands China is hosting nine local SMEs at roadshows at Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, Sands® Cotai Central and The Parisian Macao, as part of Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme.
The roadshows, which are regularly held at Sands China properties’ back-of-house team member areas, seek to provide additional business opportunities for local small, medium and micro suppliers, “Made in Macao” companies and Macao young entrepreneurs, in line with Sands China’s efforts to continually offer support to local SME growth and increase their procurement opportunities with large companies like Sands China.
The group of local SME suppliers – who are accepting consumption subsidy smartcards – are offering a variety of nearly 300 of their products and services to Sands China team members at discounted prices, including health foods, eyeglasses, sportswear, dried seafood and other goods and services.
“Sands China is very pleased to once again be able to show support to local SME suppliers through these roadshows,” said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. “Our team members benefit from having the convenience of shopping during their breaks, and the vendors benefit from direct access to our more than 28,000 team members and the opportunity to raise their brand awareness and increase sales.”
Sands China’s Local Small, Medium and Micro Suppliers Support Programme was jointly announced in July 2015 with the Macao Chamber of Commerce. The programme is in line with the Macao government’s initiative to “buy local” and demonstrates Sands China’s commitment to supporting local enterprises as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. It is part of Sands China’s supplier relationship management strategy, which guides the company’s long-standing effort to support local suppliers, whom it views as its strategic partners.
