The Venetian Macao’s North Restaurant Launches Sichuan Cuisine Promotion

(Macao, October 9, 2019) – North restaurant at The Venetian® Macao has launched a Sichuan cuisine promotion until Nov. 30, 2019. Once one of China’s best-kept culinary secrets, Sichuan’s rich and spicy flavours have exploded onto the world’s best menus in recent years, due to the addictively tingling sensations of its unique ma la (numbing spice).

The Sichuan cuisine promotion includes classic cold dishes such as chilled pork knuckle and century egg terrine with spicy garlic sauce; and crispy beef with dried chilli, cumin and sesame seeds. Hot favourites offer steamed turbot with black bean and green peppercorn sauce; tea-smoked baby duck; and Chinese baby lobster and clams in sesame chilli oil. Dessert – a Sichuan blossom jelly with dried fruit – is used as a traditional palate cleanser to wash away the spiciness of the meal.

Every dish uses different ingredients, spices and methods of cooking, giving diners a full range of culinary experiences. Fine spices have been mainly sourced from Sichuan, and all dishes use fresh, local ingredients.
