Sands Resorts Macao Again Honoured in 2020 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Awards

  • The Golden Peacock, La Chine, Lotus Palace and Zi Yat Heen score diamond ratings
  • Gala dinners and lunch experiences held in conjunction with prestigious event

 

(Macao, Jan. 10, 2020) – Four Sands Resorts Macao restaurants have been recognised in the influential Meituan Dianping 2020 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide awards, which took place at Sands Cotai Theatre on Jan. 9.
 

The Venetian® Macao’s The Golden Peacock and The Parisian Macao’s La Chine again received two diamond ratings and Four Seasons Hotel Macao’s Zi Yat Heen a one diamond rating respectively. Meanwhile The Parisian Macao’s Lotus Palace was awarded a diamond rating for the first time at the ceremony, which was attended by government officials, VIPs, leading industry personalities, celebrity chefs, and the media.

                                                                                                                  

As part of a series of events linked to the 2020 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide awards, exclusive celebrity chef lunch experiences for members of the media, social influencers and VIPs were also held on The Venetian Macao’s Grand Canal over four days between Jan. 9-12. The Black Pearl 2020 Gala Dinner also took place at The Venetian Grand Ballroom over three nights between Jan. 9-11.
 

The chefs for the prestigious events were all from regions which hold UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy status – Macao, Sichuan Chengdu, Guangdong Shunde and Jiangsu Yangzhou.
 

At each lunch and gala dinner experience guest celebrity chefs collaborated with renowned Sands Resorts Macao chefs from restaurants including La Chine, Lotus Palace, The Golden Peacock and Zi Yat Heen, who each contributed their own superb signature dish. The cooperation between DianPing and Sands Resorts Macao is intended to promote Chinese food culture worldwide.

Celebrity guest chef: Chiu Chow Cuisine Master Chef Liu Song Bin (signature dish charcoal-grilled wild giant conch – Chiu Chow speciality).

Sands Resorts Macao chefs: La Chine Executive Chef Chung Kuy Fai (signature dish French morel and duck soup with black truffle dumplings); The Golden Peacock Senior Chef Justin Paul (signature dish Jewels of the Sea - blue lobster, scallops and avocado with Beluga caviar).

Celebrity guest chefs: Sichuan Cuisine Master Chef Lan Gui Jun (signature dish kung pao chilled Australian baby lobster with chilled spicy noodles); Huaiyang Cuisine Master Chef Zhou Xiao Yan (signature dish braised beef short-rib Huaiyang style); assisted by Chef Tao Xiao Dong.
Sands Resorts Macao chefs: La Chine Executive Chef Chung Kuy Fai (signature dish stewed Liancheng duck with fish maw and deer tendon); Four Seasons Hotel Macao Executive Chef of Chinese Kitchen Cheung Chi Choi (signature dish braised chicken with whole oma abalone and morels); The Golden Peacock Senior Chef Justin Paul (signature dish Golden Rendezvous - dark chocolate with Chelan cherries, Indian alphonso mango, meringue, saffron, cognac and edible gold).
 

The 2020 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide has this year recognised 309 restaurants, including 16 Three-Diamond (once-in-a-lifetime experience), 78 Two-Diamond (special occasion) and 215 One-Diamond (party) restaurants. They cover 27 cities from all over the world.
