Sands Resorts Macao Recognised in Prestigious 2019 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Awards

La Chine, The Golden Peacock and Zi Yat Heen pick up diamond ratings at glittering ceremony held at The Venetian Macao


 

(Macao, Jan. 11, 2019) – Three Sands Resorts Macao restaurants have been honoured in the influential Meituan Dianping 2019 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide awards, which took place at The Venetian® Macao’s Venetian Theatre on Jan.10.
 

The Parisian Macao’s La Chine and The Venetian Macao’s The Golden Peacock received two diamond ratings, while Four Seasons Hotel Macao’s Zi Yat Heen picked up a one diamond rating at the ceremony, which was attended by government officials ,VIPs, leading industry personalities, celebrity chefs, along with media and key social influencers.
 

As part of a series of events linked to the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide awards, an exclusive Lunch on the Water celebrity chef experience for 20 members of the media and social influencers was also held on The Venetian Macao’s canals. Three celebrity chefs including Chung Kuy Fai, Executive Chef of The Parisian Macao’s La Chine, Deng Huadong, Chef and CEO of classic Sichuan restaurant Deng G in Hong Kong and Su Weiqing, Executive Chef of Ming Court restaurant in Shanghai presented four dishes.
 

The Black Pearl Awards Ceremony 2019 Gala Dinner took place at The Venetian Ballroom. Five celebrity chefs including Chung Kuy Fai, Executive Chef of The Parisian Macao’s La Chine, Justin Paul, Senior Chef of The Venetian Macao’s The Golden Peacock, Liang Jianyu, Executive Chef of White Swan Hotel Guangzhou, Chen Wanqing, Executive Chef of Yangzhou Tea Garden, Yangzhou, and DeAille Tam, chef of Bo Shanghai restaurant, Shanghai created eight dishes for invited guests to experience a superb gustatory banquet. The renowned Chinese food critic and CCTV programme “A Bite of China” consultant Dong Keping acted as emcee for the event.
 

Part of Meituan Dianping’s ongoing efforts to provide the finest culinary experience for its customers while reflecting the nation’s unique culinary preferences, the 2019 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide has this year recognised 287 restaurants, including 20 Three-Diamond, 77 Two-Diamond and 190 One-Diamond restaurants. They cover 27 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, Yangzhou, Chengdu, Shunde and Taizhou in China as well as international cities, such as Tokyo and New York.
 

Restaurants selected by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide are put through a vigorous critiquing process by a team consisting of master chefs, culinary experts, special advisors with expertise in China’s dining sector, and gourmets identified by the company's one-stop local dining and lifestyle service platform. The selection process is overseen by accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian LLP.
